FULTON, Mo. - The William Woods University men's soccer team were defeated by Hannibal-LaGrange University 2-0 on their regular season finale this evening. They dropped to 3-12 overall and concluded AMC play with 1-7.
The Owls enter the American Midwest Conference Championship as the eight-seed and will travel to one-seed Lyon College on Saturday, Nov. 3, at 1 p.m.
Prior to this evening's game, the two seniors honored were: Ben Faherty and Jon Buerge.
HLGU found the back of the net in the 31st minute grabbing the lead of the game.
With the clock hitting the 47th minute mark, HLGU scored the final goal of the game to extend their lead to 2-0.
The Owls were unable to find the back of the net during the 90 minutes of regulation.
Ben Faherty (3-7) played all 90 minutes in between the posts and made seven saves.
HLGU outshot the Owls, 19-11.
