TALLADEGA, Ala. – The William Woods University men's basketball team lost to No. 11 Talladega College Saturday afternoon at the Fresh Start Classic, 82-49. The Owls drop to 2-4 on the season.
The Owls continue their road series with a 7 p.m. tip-off at Culver-Stockton College on Thursday, Nov. 18.

The Owls scored back-to-back-to-back layups by
Jared Crutcher,
Darius Yohe and
Makenzie Fessler to give the Owls a three-point lead four minutes into the game, 6-3.
TC answered with two three-pointers and a free throw to take up a four-point lead, 10-6. They extended their lead to 13 with an 11-0 run, but a three from
Andrew Nett broke up the run.
Nett followed with a second three, and points from Crutcher and
Spencer Yoggerst cut the game to three halfway through the first half, 21-18.
A 15-0 TC run spanning over the next seven minutes left the Owls trailing by 18 with 3:38 on the clock.
A dunk from Yohe ended the run. The two teams traded buckets over the final minutes, and TC ended the half with an 18-point lead, 40-22.
A three from Schwartze started the second half, and a jumper from Fessler two minutes in brought the Owls within 14, 43-29.
TC strung together a 10-0 run, but a dunk from Crutcher and a three from Schwartze brought the Owls back within 20 with 13:43 to play.
A three from Schwartze and a long jumper from Fessler cut the game to 15 with 11:32 on the clock, but TC closed out the game with a 25-7 run.
