FULTON, Mo. – The William Woods University women's basketball team fell to RV Benedictine (Kan.) Tuesday evening, 72-41. The Owls fall to 1-1 on the season.
The Owls have their second exhibition game next at Northwest Missouri State University on Saturday, Nov. 7, at 7 p.m.

The Owls were unable to get on the board until just shy of two minutes left in the first quarter as
Taneigh Boyd hit a step-back three from
Natalie Thomas. Boyd hit a long jumper just as the buzzer sounded to give the Owls five points at the end of the first, 14-5.
The Owls put up six in a two-minute span with free throws from Thomas, a layup from
Kiyanna Rodgers and a jumper from
Arriyonn Phillips to force BC to a timeout, 28-15. BC scored the next 10 points, but Boyd hit a jumper from Makenna Wuelling to send the Owls into halftime trailing 38-17.
Kasey Hazell hit the first bucket of the second half on an in-the-paint jumper just 30 seconds in.
Amaya Keeling followed it with a layup to cut the game to 17 with 7:14 on the clock, 38-21. BC ended the quarter with an 11-2 run to hold a 29-point lead, 56-27.
The Owls put up 14 points in the final quarter. BC pushed out a 39-point lead four minutes in. A three from
Olivia Hanks with 4:32 on the clock began the Owls' 10-2 run to close out the game, 72-41.
