Box Score COLUMBIA, Mo. – The William Woods University volleyball team took a set from No. 18 Columbia College Tuesday evening. The 3-1 loss drops the Owls to 18-9 on the season with a 5-3 conference mark.
The Owls lost 21-25, 21-25, 25-20, 16-25.
The Owls close out their conference portion of the schedule on Thursday, Nov. 4, at Stephens College. First serve is slated for 7 p.m.

Match Highlights
The two teams were neck-and-neck throughout most of set one, but a kill from
Hannah Kuehl began a 3-0 run to give the Owls a 20-17 lead. CC answered with an 8-1 run coming out of their timeout to win the set 25-21.
An 8-2 run midway through set two evened the score for the Owls, 14-14. CC took up a 23-18 lead, but a kill from
Riley Alton and an ace from
Emily Greif helped bring the Owls within two, 23-21. CC ended the set with two kills, 25-21.
The Owls pushed a 5-1 lead to start set three with kills from Kuehl,
Kassidy Phillips and
Reanna Dodge. A 4-0 Owls' run with three CC errors put the Owls up 12-6, and a kill from
Alli Gueck gave the Owls a 19-13 lead. The Owls took the set following a 4-1 run to win 25-20.
CC came out with a vengeance in set four, pushing a 6-1 run to start. They extended their lead to 16-8 before the Owls ignited a 7-1 run to cut their deficit to two with two points coming from Kuehl and four points coming from
Lanie Lowry, 17-15. CC answered with an 8-1 run to close out the match with a 25-16 win.
