FULTON, Mo. – Senior
Makenzie Fessler broke the William Woods University gameday record for field goals made Monday afternoon in the Owls' 89-73 win over Waldorf University (Iowa). The team also tied the record for consecutive home wins as they recorded their eighth straight win in Anderson Arena.
The Owls improve to 6-8 on the season.
The team takes the court one final time in 2021 as they play their final exhibition game of the season on Sunday, Dec. 19, at Southwestern Illinois University-Edwardsville. Tip-off is slated for 1 p.m.

The Owls got off to a slow start as WU took up a 10-2 lead five minutes in.
A short jumper from
Nathan Schwartze followed by a three from
Andrew Nett and turnaround jumper from
Makenzie Fessler cut the game to one with 12:05 on the clock, 12-11.
A three from Nett evened the score, and a three from
Spencer Yoggerst gave the Owls their first lead of the game with 10:40 on the clock, 17-16.
WU pushed back a six-point lead, but the Owls blasted a 14-3 run in a three-minute span to take up a five-point lead with 6:25 to play, 31-26.
A three from Yoggerst and a steal and fastbreak layup from Schwartze gave the Owls a 10-point lead with 42 seconds left in the first half. WU scored the final points of the half to send the Owls into halftime with a seven-point lead, 45-38.
The Owls ignited a 12-0 run to go up by 19 just over halfway through the second half, 72-53.
Back-to-back jumpers from
Jacob Randall and Fessler gave the Owls their largest lead of the game, a 22-point advantage, with 6:17 to play, 83-61.
Fessler scored the last eight points of the game for the Owls, closing out the game with a 16-point win, 89-73.
