CANTON, Mo. – The William Woods University men's soccer team opened their season with a 2-0 loss to Culver-Stockton College Wednesday evening. The Owls move to 0-1 on the season.
 
Joaquin Cordoba gave Culver-Stockton their first goal of the game with 2:48 on the clock, 1-0.
 
The Owls took one shot in the first half, but it was unsuccessful. 

Culver-Stockton led going into halftime, 1-0.
 
At the 78 minute mark, Benjamin Doncel extended the lead, 2-0.
 
The Owls were not able to find the back of the net during the 90 minutes of regulation.
 
Ben Faherty had 10 saves during the game in between the posts with six coming in the first half.
 
The Owls will face next Lincoln College on Saturday, Aug. 28, at 3 p.m. for their home opener on Firley Field.
