ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The William Woods University men's basketball team buzzed past the Harris-Stowe State University Hornets Thursday evening for their third straight win. The 88-60 win is their second 20+ win of the season alongside their second conference win. The Owls sit 8-8 on the season with a 2-0 conference mark.
The Owls next play on the road at Williams Baptist University on Saturday, Jan. 8, at 3 p.m.

Game Highlights
The Owls won the tip and started the game with a three from
Nathan Schwartze. A three from
Makenzie Fessler gave the Owls a six-point lead, but HSSU cut the game to two points five minutes in, 10-8.
The Owls responded with a 9-0 run, kicked off by
Andrew Nett's three-pointer and ending with a fast break layup from Fessler. With 13:06 on the clock, the Owls led 19-8.
A 7-0 run with five points coming from Fessler gave the Owls a 15-point lead with 6:39 to play in the first half, 30-15.
HSSU cut the game to 10, but three points from
Darius Yohe and a three from
Andrew Nett put the Owls up by 17, their largest lead of the half, with just under two minutes to go. HSSU scored the final points of the half, ending the first 20 minutes of play with the Owls leading 40-26.
After a back-and-forth start to the second half, the Owls pounded out 16 unanswered points to take up a 26-point lead with 12:02 to play, 63-37. A fast break layup from Nett with 5:40 on the clock put the Owls up by 30, 78-48.
A down-low jumper from
Karter Koenig put the Owls up by 30 again with a minute to go, but HSSU scored last, ending the game with a 28-point win, 88-60.
