FULTON, Mo. – The William Woods University volleyball team swept Harris-Stowe State University in the quarterfinal round of the American Midwest Conference Championship. The Owls won 25-15, 25-12, 25-17.
The Owls now move to the semifinals round of the AMC Championship. The Owls will face the two-seeded Missouri Baptist at 6:30 p.m. on the campus of Columbia College. The winner will face the winner of the Stephens/Columbia game in the finals on Saturday, Nov. 12.

A 5-0 run early in set one gave the Owls an 8-3 lead. A 7-0 rally later in the set with five kills, a Ryleigh McBurney ace and a HSSU error put the Owls up 21-9. After HSSU managed to put together a small run,
Riley Alton ended the set with a kill, 25-15.
A 5-1 run early in set two doubled HSSU's score, 8-4. A 6-1 run later in the set gave the Owls an 18-8 lead, and the Owls finished out the set with a 25-12 win.
The Owls continued their strong start in set three, jumping to an 11-5 lead early on. A kill from Kennedy Lane gave the Owls a seven-point lead, 17-10, and a kill from Kennedy Flanner gave the Owls a nine-point advantage, 21-12. Emma Austin ended the match with a kill, 25-17.
