KANSAS CITY, Kan. – The No. 17 William Woods University men's tennis team defeated RV McPherson College this afternoon, 4-3. The Owls improve to 2-3 on the season.
The Owls return to action on Friday, Mar. 4 at 3 p.m. versus Ottawa University at home.
The team grabbed the doubles point after winning in all three courts.
In No. 1 doubles,
Vitek Subert and
Vaclav Schneider defeated Beltran and Komel, 6-2.
Nathan Cooke and
Ben Grumley earned a 6-3 victory over Millos and Brouwer, in No. 2 doubles. Competing in No. 3 doubles,
Patrick Shelepov and
Robert Schorr grabbed a 6-2 win against Murphy and Marcano.
In singles, the Owls were victorious in the No. 1, No. 2 and No. 3 spots.
In No. 1 singles, Schneider defeated Beltran 7-5, 6-1. Grumley took a 6-4, 6-3 win over Millos, In No. 2 singles. Shelepov took down Brouwer in the No. 3 spot with a 6-0, 6-4 victory.
