FULTON, Mo. – The William Woods University baseball team fell short to University of Saint Mary (Kan.) Wednesday afternoon. The team moves to 12-7 on the season.

The Owls will open conference play at Missouri Baptist tomorrow, on Mar. 17. First pitch is set for 2:30 p.m. 

• Marcus Gonzalez went 1 for 4 and scored one run.
• Isaiah Gibbs went 2 for 5. He had two RBIs, scored one run, and hit a homer.
• Jordan Smith went 1 for 4 and scored one run.
• Bryson Matthews went 1 for 2. He scored one run and recorded on RBI.
• Braden Lallier went 1 for 4 and recorded one RBI. 

Wyatt Fischer took the loss on the mound. He pitched 4.0 innings and struck out six while allowing seven hits and five runs.
 
Logan Blumhagen pitched 1.0 innings and struck out one.

Carson Prescott pitched 1.1 innings and allowed two hits.

Andrew Fyffe pitched 2.2 innings and struck out while allowing one hit.
