MARSHALL, Mo. – The William Woods University baseball team split against Missouri Valley Saturday afternoon, ending the four-game series with the Vikings 2-2. The Owls won 12-8 on game one, and fell 7-4 on game two. The team improves to 11-6 on the season.
 
The Owls will return to action on Tuesday, Mar. 8 at Culver-Stock College at 3 p.m.
 
Game One
The Owls won 12-8 on game one against Missouri Valley.

• Marcus Gonzalez and Tyklen Salmons each scored one run.
• Alex Wimer went 1 for 4 and scored one run.
• Isaiah Gibbs went 1 for 3 and scored two runs.
• Alex Owens went 2 for 3. He had three runs and two RBIs.
• Bryson Matthews had one run and one RBI.
• Kamron Morriss went 2 for 3. He scored one run, hit one homer, and had four RBIs.
• Jack Niggemeier scored two runs, hit one homer, and had one RBI.
• Ryan Long was credited with the win on the mound. He pitched 5.1 innings and struck out five while allowing nine hits and eight runs.
• Max Storch pitched 1.2 innings. He struck out two and allowed two hits.

 
Game Two
The Owls fell 7-4 on game two against Missouri Valley.

• Marcus Gonzalez and Isaiah Gibbs each recorded one run.
• Bryson Matthews went 2 for 3. He scored run runs, hit one homer, and had two RBIs.
• Kaleb Haley took the loss on the mound. He struck out two and allowed five hits and seven runs.
• Jackson Truesdell pitched 3.0 innings. He struck out three and allowed one hit.
