O'FALLON, Mo. – The William Woods University baseball team started the day with a loss to the No. 1 seed Lyon in the American Midwest Conference Championships. The Owls entered the second game vs. Missouri Baptist needing the win to stay alive. However, the Owls fell just short in the evening game, losing 10-5.
The team concluded the season with a 30-18 record.
Game One
The Owls fell to Lyon, 10-7.
Ryan Long started on the mound for the Owls. He pitched 0.2 innings and allowed three hits and five runs.
Tyler Abney took the loss on the mound. He pitched 4.2 innings and struck out four while allowing seven hits and one run.
Andrew Fyffe pitched 1.0 inning, allowing one hit and one run.
Jackson Truesdell pitched 0.2 innings. He struck out one and allowed two hits and three runs.
Carson Prescott pitched 1.0 inning and struck out one.
Game Two
The Owls took a 10-5 loss to Missouri Baptist.
Owen Tripp started on the mound for the Owls. He pitched 5.0 innings and struck out two while allowing six hits and five runs.
Andrew Fyffe (1-2) was credited with the loss on the mound. He pitched 2.0 innings and struck out one while allowing two hits and one run.
Max Storch pitched 1.0 inning, allowing three hits and four runs.
