OAKLAND CITY, Ind. – The William Woods University men's soccer team battled during 90 minutes of regulation against Oakland City University but tied 1-1 this Wednesday afternoon. The Owls move to 1-1-2 on the season.
The Owls struck first with a goal from
Lubos Polacko assisted by
Florian Senst in the 28
th minute, but the Mighty Oaks answered with one of their own in the in the 33
rd minute. Both teams traded stops for the rest of the afternoon to finish in a tie.
Iker Gonzalez stayed all 90 minutes in between posts. He stopped 11 shots with seven coming from the first period.
The Owls had nine shots total with six on goal.
The Owls return to action on the road next week, where they head to Kansas to take on Ottawa University on Wednesday, Sep. 7 at 6:30 p.m.
