ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The William Woods University volleyball team opened conference play with a 3-0 sweep over Harris-Stowe State University Tuesday. The Owls with a 1-0 record and move to 4-10 on the season.
The Owls won 25-16, 25-17, 25-15.
The Owls next play No. 5 Missouri Baptist University on Thursday, Sept. 22, at 6 p.m.

How It Happened
The Owls struck an early 8-1 run with six kills (three from
Emma Austin) and an ace to take an 11-5 lead. They added a 6-1 run to go up 18-9, and easily finished out the set with a 25-16 win.
A 9-1 run put the Owls on top after a tight beginning to set two, 19-13. A 4-0 run with two kills from Austin, a kill from
Kassidy Phillips and a HSSU service error closed out the set with a 25-17 win.
A 5-0 run mid-way through set three gave the Owls a 19-11 lead, and the Owls closed out the set with a 4-1 run to win 25-15.
