COLUMBIA, Mo. - William Woods University's
Elena Parr scored 91 out of 100 to win the high overall female award in the WWU Exhibition Shoot against State Fair Community College Wednesday at Prairie Grove Shotgun Sports.
The Owls' home event consisted of 100 American skeet per participant, with four rounds of 25 targets each. Ten competitors represented WWU, five females and five males, and State Fair had 15 players, 14 males and one female.
Outside of Parr, the Owls' female scores were
Lainey Miller with a 75,
Katie Houchins with a 73,
Trista Trivette with a 39 and
Rylee Hedges with a 33.
On the male side, William Woods'
Connor Hess tallied a 92,
Hunter Czarnecki-Ball with a 90,
Tyler Winslett with an 80, Nick Castner with a 75 and Hayden Woolridge with a 65.
The Roadrunners outscored the Owls 456-428 to win the high overall team award. For each team's tally, its top five scores, male or female, were included in the team score.
SFCC's Landon Schachtele took home the high overall male award, posting the best score at the event, 95.
William Woods finishes its busy week of events by competing in ACUI from Friday to Sunday at the World Shooting and Recreational Complex in Sparta, Ill. Friday's events are doubles skeet and doubles trap, Saturday's American skeet and sporting clays and Sunday's American trap and super sporting.
