SAN ANTONIO - William Woods University traveled to the National Shooting Complex to compete in ACUI Nationals from Thursday to Friday, and the Owls placed sixth out of 21 teams in Division 3 CAA.
For the respective events, The Woods took 16th out of 61 Division 3 teams in American Skeet, 23rd out of 61 in American Trap and 21st out of 61 in Sporting Clays.
The Owls' first event was Sporting Clays on Thursday morning. They were led by
Connor Hess and
Hayden Wooldridge, who each scored a 79. Following those two,
Elena Parr posted a 77, Nick Castner a 73 and
Hunter Czarnecki-Ball a 70.
On Thursday afternoon, William Woods participated in American Skeet. Hess guided the Owls with a 95, Czarnecki-Ball had a 92, Parr and Castner a 90 and
Tyler Winslett an 80.
At noon Friday, The Woods shot American Trap for its final event at nationals. Hess capped his strong showing with a 96, Czarnecki-Ball and Wooldridge tallied a 95, Winslett an 88 and Castner an 81.
