FULTON, Mo. – William Woods (5-13, 2-8 Heart) men's basketball couldn't keep pace down the stretch Wednesday night, falling 75–63 to MidAmerica Nazarene inside Anderson Arena.
The Owls stayed competitive early, trading runs with MidAmerica Nazarene (10-8, 5-5 Heart) and keeping the game within reach through the first half. With a late first-half surge from the Owls to head into the half with some momentum.
The Pioneers came out of the half clicking as well as the Owls, with an uptick in offensive production from both squads. Despite the Owls' efforts on offense and defense, the Pioneers would not go away and kept the pressure on the Owls.
Brock Davis led the offensive charge for the Owls with 15 points and 6 rebounds.
Mark Onyejekwe added 14 points as well with 6 rebounds. Guards
Isaiah Payne and
Demarco Buchanan put up 10 points each as the Owls would fall to the Pioneers 75-63.
William Woods will look to regroup and get back on track in conference play as they host the Clarke Pride Saturday in Anderson Arena for a 2:00 p.m. tip-off.
