FULTON, Mo. – William Woods (8-20, 5-15 Heart) fell at home Saturday afternoon to Mount Mercy (15-13, 10-10 Heart) in Anderson Arena, 93-77, as we honored our seniors,
Jacob LaBounty and
Brock Davis.
Mount Mercy came out firing in the opening quarter, lighting it up behind the arc with no answer from the owls. With the Owls struggling to stop them on defense, the Mustangs would put up 44 points and would outscore the Owls heading into the half, 44-29.
The Owls responded with a much stronger second half, but the Mustangs matched their offensive effort, as the Owls could not stop the Mustangs' offense. Despite the second-half effort on the offensive side of the ball, the Owls would fall to the Mustangs, 93-77.
Greg Cole led the charge off the bench for the Owls with 19 points, while Seniors
Brock Davis put up 17 points and
Jacob LaBounty added 10 points and 7 rebounds.
With the loss, the Owls will wrap up their season and Andrew Green's first season at the helm, looking to head into a good offseason and come back new and improved.
