FULTON, Mo.- Owls men's tennis continued their onslaught of opponents with a 4-1 clinch win over Midland University (Neb.) on Saturday afternoon at the Suzanne Neal Memorial Tennis Complex. The Woods, celebrating their senior day, lost only one match in the contest to earn their eighth straight win against NAIA opponents. For senior day, Asher Stevens, Daniel Lushpa, Noah Burton, and Duarte Melo were recognized for their careers as Owls.  

William Woods secured the double point on immaculate play from top pairing of Noah Burton and Duarte Melo who blanked their opponent in the single set. Woods lost in #2 doubles before securing the point with a 6-4 win in #3 doubles thanks to a strong effort from Burno Matta and Paulo Lopes Ferreira. 

In singles play, The Woods continued to dominate winning in consecutive sets in both the #1 and #2 place doubles to give the Owls a 3-1 match lead. Woods fell short in the #3 singles before Tomas Guadagni secured the match win with a 6-0, 6-0 in #4 singles to cement the 4-1 scoreline. Jesper Seger and Lopes Ferreira, playing in the #4 and #5 singles respectively, were ahead in their matches before the Owls clinched and play was abandoned.   

William Woods returns April 2, with a matchup against Heart of America Athletic Conference Opponent Missouri Valley in Marshall, Mo.
