FULTON, Mo.— William Woods men's tennis (1-0) commanded a 7-0 victory over Saint Mary (0-1) in their first matchup of the 2026-27 season. The Owls took the doubles point early, and never looked back in their dominating win.
Cole Horton and Tobias Hajek, the new #1 pairing for the young Owls, leveled a seven-to-six match to give the Owls their first point of the season. Paulo Lopes Ferreira and Tomas Guadagni sealed the doubles point with a six-to-three win in the #3 grouping.
Woods blanked their opponent in singles play, not losing a matchup for all six contests. Horton, Guadagni, Joaquin Diaz, Thomas Geukemeijer, Gerra Sawatzki, and Joao Songalia each picked up their first individual wins of the season.
The Owls are back on the court at the ITA Central-West Region Championships September 25-27.
