Spartans Beat Owls

FULTON, Mo.- William Woods men's tennis, for the first time in program history, dropped their matchup with Missouri Baptist University on Wednesday afternoon. The Owls, who move to 11-5 on the year, lost just their second match against an NAIA opponent this season.

The Owls dominated in #2 doubles, breaking out to an early lead with a 6-0 win from Tobias Hajek and Cole Horton. Woods was unable to capitalize on the huge win, falling short in #1 and #3 doubles to drop the first point of the match.

The #14 ranked Spartans continued to excel, toppling the next four singles matches to take a commanding match win. All three Owls dropped their matchup in consecutive sets, with the #2 singles match going the distance between Cole Horton and Strahinja Radanovic eventually going in favor of MBU.

Woods saw one win in the #5 singles with Tomas Guadagni who bested his opponent in straight sets. The true freshman from Argentina has had an incredible year, this time toppling the junior Moscow, Russia.

William Woods moves to 13-1 all-time against the Spartans, and 11-5 on the season. The Owls return next week with a matchup at Missouri Valley College on April 16th.
