MARSHALL, Mo. — William Woods women's soccer (2-4, 0-3 Heart) dropped its third consecutive game following a 5-0 loss to Missouri Valley University (1-3-2, 1-0-1 Heart). The Owls struggled to generate offense, putting four shots on goal in the contest.
The Vikings netted their first goal just shy of the seven-minute mark. Tess Roberts looked to even the score two minutes later, but her shot sailed wide right. Bri Reynolds tested the MVU keeper in the 23rd minute, but her attempt was turned away by the Viking netminder. Neither team found the back of the net for the remainder of the first half as both defensive lines held firm.
In the second half, the Vikings added four goals, including three in a row between the 70th and 78th minutes. Kirsten Kramer and Alex Nortrup each put shots on frame in the second half, but both attempts were turned away by the MVU keeper.
Sierra Hahn collected five saves in the contest but fell to 0-3 in net this season.
The Owls head to Park University for a midweek matchup Wednesday night before hosting Graceland University next Sunday to close out Homecoming weekend.
