In his first season for the Owls he appeared in 17 games and made seven starts... Recorded five hits in 26 at bats, drove in eight runners and posted one home run on the year...His best outing came against Mid-Continent on April 19th, where he went 1-for-2 and collected a career-best four RBIs...

Also a four-time all-district (hon. mention as a freshman, three-time first team) and three-time all-state selection... Batting average of .639 and slugging percentage of .917 earned him first-team all-state honors as a junior.
