Coach Andy Hight

Andy Hight

Andy Hight begins his fourthyear as Assistant Baseball Coach at William Woods University. Hight has been a key piece to the most successful era in school history. He has assisted with the pitching staff and served as bullpen coach on game day.

He played a leading role in developing the Owls bullpen the past three seasons. Under his tutelage, Owls relievers have led the American Midwest Conference in saves, appearances and earned run average each of the past three seasons. During that time, three different Owls closers were named first-team all-AMC, and one received first team NAIA All-American honors (Alex Cann, 2011).

Hight came to William Woods after a playing career at North Central Missouri College in Trenton, Mo. He signed to pitch at William Woods in 2009, but began coaching when his playing career was cut short due to an arm injury. He is a graduate of Hallsville High School.  At HHS, he played football, basketball and baseball. Hight was a member of back-to-back Missouri state baseball championships in 2004 and 2005. He was a Missouri senior All-Star selection.

Hight received his bachelor's degree in Physical Education from William Woods in 2012, and is currently the Physical Education teacher at Busch Elementary School in Fulton, Mo.
