Chris Fletcher was named the head coach of the William Woods baseball team in August 2019 after serving three seasons as the assistant coach. He is no stranger to the program, having enjoyed a stellar two-year career as an infielder for the Owls.
In his second season at William Woods, the Owls had a 24-17 overall record and 15-11 in AMC Play. Their season came to an end after falling to No. 4 seed Lyon College in the AMC Tournament. Five earned All-Conference awards, and he also had 20 players named to Academic All-AMC Team.
His first season in charge was cut short due to COVID-19, leaving his first-year record at 11-9.
Fletcher spent the 2015 season as an assistant coach for Truman State University. During the year, Truman State broke the school record for wins in a season (35), won the Midwest Regional championship and competed at the NCAA Division 2 World Series. After the collegiate season ended, Fletcher spent the summer coaching the Hannibal Cavemen in the Prospect League.
Fletcher recently served as an assistant this summer, 2017, with the Jefferson City Renegades of the MINK League. Fletcher spent the summer of 2014 as a coach for the Thunder Bay Border Cats in the prestigious Northwoods League, which is one of the best summer collegiate leagues in the country. During the summer of 2013, Fletcher served as an assistant coach for the Pioneers in the Lewis & Clark Collegiate League. His team finished with an 18-9 mark in the team's first ever season.
During the summer of 2012, he served as the head coach for the Moberly American Legion program, leading the team to a 25-14 overall record and a district championship.
The Moberly, Missouri native, finished his undergraduate degree at William Woods in the fall of 2012. He earned his bachelor's in pre-legal studies. In 2014, Fletcher earned his Masters of Administration in Athletic Administration from William Woods.
Fletcher is married to Rachael and they reside in Fulton.
