John Hutchison

John Hutchison, a native of Scotland, enters his second year as a Graduate Assistant Coach for the Owls men’s soccer program.

Coach Hutchison comes to William Woods after serving as a Volunteer Assistant Coach in the 2016 season for the University of Arkansas women’s soccer program. During that time, he helped lead the Razorbacks to the most wins in school history (18,) two of which were against top 10 ranked programs, their first SEC conference championship appearance in 20 years, and a second round appearance in the NCAA Tournament.

Prior the Arkansas, Hutchison served as the Graduate Assistant for both the men’s and women’s soccer programs at Ottawa University in Ottawa (Kan.) for the 2013 and 2014 seasons. In this time there, he helped the men’s team reach KCAC playoffs both years. With the women’s program, he helped lead them to back-to-back conference titles as well as appearances in the NAIA National Championship Tournament.

Before going to Ottawa University, Hutchison was a two-year member of the Columbia College men’s soccer team. In two seasons, he scored 10 goals and tallied four assists. He helped lead the Cougars to an AMC conference championship and a bid to the NAIA National Tournament in 2010. Hutchison spent the first two years of his collegiate soccer career at Lincoln Land Community College, where he scored 35 goals and 18 assists. There he was named All-Conference and All-Region in both 2008 and 2009 as well as team captain. He helped lead the Loggers to the program’s first conference championship title in 2008.
 
Coach Hutchison holds a United States Soccer Federation (USSF) “D” license as well as Level 1 and 2 NSCAA Goalkeeping certifications.
 
Hutchison received a Master’s in Business Administration from Ottawa University and a Bachelor of Arts in Sports Management from Columbia College. He is currently working towards a Master’s of Education in Sports Administration at William Woods University.
