Ayriell Robinson was named the William Woods University women's basketball coach in July 2019.
In her second season at William Woods, the Owls went 5-12 and 4-11 in AMC Play. Their season came to an end after falling in the Quarterfinals of the AMC Tournament to Lyon College. One earned All-Conference and All-Freshman Team. She also had seven players named to Academic All-AMC Team.
Robinson had a standout season to begin her collegiate head coaching career. The team went 25-7. After falling in the semifinals of the AMC Championship, the team earned an automatic bid to the 2020 NAIA National Championship. Unfortunately, the Championship was canceled due to COVID, but the team still gets credited with a Championship appearance. The team ranked 25th in the final NAIA Coaches' Top 25 Poll.
Two All-Americans, an AMC Defensive Player of the Year, and two All-Conference players. She also had nine players earn Academic All-Conference honors.
She came to WWU after three years as an assistant for the Lindenwood University Lions women's basketball team.She helped lead the team to back-to-back NCAA Division II National Tournament appearances and the program's first MIAA Conference Tournament Championship. The team had back-to-back 20+ win seasons in her final two years, and the Lions made an appearance in the MIAA Conference Tournament every season. She coached and developed the 2016-2017 MIAA Conference Freshman of the Year, four All-Conference members, three All-Conference Tournament team performers, and one Second Team All-Region performer.
Prior to Lindenwood, Robinson coached one season at NCAA Division I Southeastern Louisiana. Among the players she coached was Nanna Pool who was a third-team all-conference selection.
Prior to her time at Southeastern Louisiana, she was an assistant coach at Angelina College. She helped that program to three straight NJCAA Region XIV conference tournament appearances. She was also an assistant for one season at St. Mary's Academy in New Orleans, La.
Her first coaching gig was at St. Marys Academy of New Orleans. She spent one season with the varsity team and helped lead them to an 18-11 record and a playoff birth.
Robinson played for Saint Louis University from 2009-2011. She appeared in 59 games and averaged 6.6 points and 3.5 rebounds a contest. Robinson led the team in 2009-10 with a .391 three-point percentage, and she was first on the squad the next season with 39 steals.
Robinson earned her M.A. in coaching and athletic administration from Concordia University Irvine in 2016. She earned her B.A. in psychology in 2011 and her Associates in science, physical education in 2009.
