Maria Wiltzius

Maria enters her first season as the women's basketball graduate assistant for William Woods. 

Prior to Woods, Wiltzius worked as the head assistant coach for the women's basketball program at Bay College in Escanaba, Mich. for one year. Before that, she worked as an assistant JV girls coach at Whitefish Bay High School in Milwaukee, Wis. for one season. 

After high school, she continued her education at Gogebic Community College where she played volleyball and basketball for two years. Maria was named to the All-Region team for both volleyball and basketball as a freshman and again for volleyball as a sophomore. She was named Team MVP for both sports as a sophomore. During her time at Gogebic, Wiltzius completed a Certificate of Business.  

From there she went on to Cardinal Stritch University in Milwaukee, Wis. to finish her degree and two years of basketball eligibility. During both years with the Wolves, the team made it to the NAIA Div. 2 National Championship Tournament. Her senior year they also won the Chicagoland Conference. Both years while on the team Maria was awaraded Academic Honors in the Conference. Maria graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s in Sport Management and a Certificate in Health & Wellness from Cardinal Stritch.
