Randy Hall enters his ninth season as head coach of the William Woods University women's soccer team after taking over the position in the summer of 2009. Hall is the sixth women's soccer coach at William Woods. The program was founded in 1989.
The Owls went 8-8-2 during the 2016 season. On October 29th, the Owls defeated St. Louis College of Pharmacy, 5-1, giving Hall his 70th win as an Owl, which ties him for the most wins by a single coach in program history. The Owls had six players earn first team or honorable mention All-AMC honors.
The 2015 season, under the guidance of Hall, the Owls won 10 matches, which was the fourth straight year with 10 or more wins. The Owls finished fourth in the AMC with a record of 8-3-1. He developed two first team All-AMC selections and three All-AMC honorable mention selections.
During the 2014 season, Hall led the Owls to a fourth-place finish in the American Midwest Conference as the team put together a 12-7-3 record (8-1-2 AMC). The team went on to win its second American Midwest Conference (AMC) Tournament and its first since 2001. They advanced to the NAIA Opening Round, but fell to eventual tournament finalist University of Northwestern Ohio. He developed three first team All-AMC and two honorable mention honorees, while 14 players landed on the Academic All-AMC team.
Hall came to William Woods from MacMurray College in Jacksonville, Ill. At MacMurray College, Hall served as assistant athletics director and head soccer coach. As assistant athletics director, Hall played a role in the strategic planning, staff oversight, fundraising, and game management at the NCAA Division III institution. He also had complete oversight of the men's and women's soccer programs. Coach Hall was at MacMurray from August of 2007 until February of 2009.
Prior to his position at MacMurray College, Hall served as an assistant coach at the University of Missouri. Hall has coached and played the game at nearly every level. His experiences have allowed him to help guide 11professionals, two U23 National Team call-ups, two U20 National Team players, two players on the U17 National Team, a NCAA Division I National Player of the Week, One US Women’s National Team Camp Call Up, numerous all-conference players. During his tenure at Mizzou, he earned the Missouri Tigers Community Service and Leadership Award.
Coach Hall has also been very involved in the US Youth Soccer Olympic Development Program as a coach and has enjoyed many successes, including leading the Missouri 93 Olympic Development Program team to the ODP National Championship game in 2010. He possesses several coaching certifications including a US Soccer National 'C' License and NSCAA Goalkeeper Coach’s Diploma. Hall has also worked in Jefferson City, Mo., as a soccer coach for the JC Select Soccer Club, and the Capital City Soccer Club. He has also worked as an Olympic Development Coach in Missouri and West Virginia.
Hall began his collegiate playing career at State Fair Community College and helped the program attain its first national ranking while earning his associate's degree in psychology. Following his graduation from State Fair he continued his playing career and education at Lincoln University which led to a bachelor’s degree in K-12 physical education. Coach Hall completed his master’s degree in coaching education at Ohio University in Athens, Ohio.
Coach Hall lives in Holts Summit, Mo., with his wife Myra and children Tristan and Alyssa.Â
