Daniel Radkowiec

Daniel Radkowiec became the William Woods University men and women's cross country/track and field coach in the summer of 2010. Radkowiec is the third cross country/track and field coach at William Woods.
 
During his six-year tenure William Woods has sent 72 athletes to the NAIA Nationals Championships. Of those 72 athletes, 22 of them have earned NAIA All-American honors and one has won an NAIA National Championship (Anthony Stockton 2013 hammer throw). Also under the watch of Radkowiec, the Owls have won 14 American Midwest Conference (AMC) Indoor and Outdoor Track and Field Championships, two American Midwest Conference Cross Country Championships, as well as coaching three-consecutive athletes to an individual championship at the American Midwest Conference Cross County Championships (Cheryl Held in 2010, Kristi Palmer in 2011, Ryan Meyer in 2012).
 
During the 2015 Cross Country season, Radkowiec won his second AMC Women’s Cross Country title in three years and was named AMC Coach of the Year. He led the men’s side to a fourth place and Alex Thompson qualified for the NAIA Cross Country National Championships.
 
In 2014-15, was another successful year for Radkowiec and the WWU Cross Country and Track and Field programs. Radkowiec led the Women’s AMC Indoor and Outdoor Track and Field Championships and was named Women’s Indoor and Outdoor Track and Field Coach of the Year. At the AMC Outdoor Track and Field Championships, Radkowiec coached the men to a second place finish. He had 11 athletes (four Indoor/seven outdoor) qualify for the NAIA Indoor and Outdoor Track and Field National Championships.
 
During the cross country season, Radkowiec coached his teams to a second place, women’s, and fourth place, men’s finish at the AMC Cross Country Championships. Under Radkowiec guidance, Kyle Gabrielson was named Freshman of the Year. He also sent two qualifiers to the National Cross Country Championships.
 
Success continued during the 2013-14 season for coach Radkowiec and the Owls men’s and women’s cross country/track and field teams’.
 
The men’s cross country team finished in second place at the AMC Cross Country Championships, but Kaleb Wilson qualified for the 58th Annual NAIA Men’s Cross Country Championships. The women’s cross country team won its first AMC Cross Country Championship since 2008, coach Radkowiec earned his first AMC Cross Country Coach of the Year award, the squad then went on to collect a 23rd place at Nationals and finished the year ranked No. 25 in the NAIA.
 
The men’s and women’s indoor track and field teams’ both won its third straight its AMC Indoor Track and Field Championship, while also sending seven athletes to Nationals. The men’s and women’s outdoor track and field teams’ also won its third straight AMC Outdoor Track and Field Championship in 2014.
 
Radkowiec won Coach of the Year honors on both sides, sent six athletes to Nationals and the 4x400 relay team finished in fourth place to earn NAIA All-American honors.
 
With their win on the women’s side during the outdoor season, they secured the program’s first “triple crown”, when they won AMC cross-country, indoor and outdoor championships.
 
The 2013 season was banner year for William Woods as both the men's and women's team completed a back-to-back sweep of the AMC Indoor and Outdoor championships. During the season Radkowiec sent 13 athletes to the NAIA Track National Championships, and produced the school's first NAIA National Champion when Anthony Stockton won the hammer throw. The 2013 season saw a school-record nine athletes be selected to the NAIA All-American team, including the school's first 4x400 All-American team of Rhett Cook, Tanner Edwards, Nick Zink and Terrell Shannon. Jon William also became the school's first mid-distance NAIA All-American in the 800-meters.
 
The 2012 men's and women's indoor track and field team won the school's first-ever AMC team title, earning Radkowiec his first AMC Coach of the Year award. The Owls sent three athletes to the NAIA Indoor Track and Field Championships. Anthony Stockton received NAIA-All American status at the championships. During the outdoor season the men's and women's track and field AMC team championship for the first time in school history. Six athletes would go on the NAIA Outdoor Track and Field Championships, while Stockton earned another All-American selection.
 
The 2012 cross country season saw the school's first ever individual champion on the men's side as Ryan Meyer finished first in the event. He and three women qualified for the NAIA Cross Country National Championships. Meyer finished 14th in the event, making him the first All-American in cross country in school history.
 
The 2011 men's and women's indoor track and field team qualified four individuals for the NAIA Indoor Track and Field Championships.  The Owls produced six individual qualifiers for the NAIA Outdoor Track and Field Championships.  Anthony Stockton received All-American status in the men's shot put at Outdoor Nationals.
 
The 2011 William Woods cross country season saw its second individual champion (Kristi Palmer) and four NAIA National Qualifiers, three on the women's side and one on the men's team.
 
The 2010 William Woods cross country season produced an individual champion (Cheryl Held) and two NAIA National Qualifiers on the women's side, and two NAIA National Qualifiers on the men's side.
 
Radkowiec served as an assistant cross country and track and field coach at NCAA Division I University of Missouri-Kansas City from 2002-2007. During his time at UMKC, Coach Radkowiec helped produce 15 first team All-Conference cross country and track and field athletes. UMKC had two athletes reach All-Region status, and 20 reach Academic All-Conference status during his tenure. The cross country and track and field team at UMKC had four individuals earn conference championships in his six years with the Kangaroos.
 
While at UMKC, Radkowiec assisted with recruiting, training and academic monitoring of student-athletes. His specific area of coaching was in middle/long distance (track and field) and cross country.

Radkowiec lives in Columbia, Mo., with his wife Jill and daughters Grace and Claire.
