Owls and Trojans Tie

Hatfield Records Nine Saves in Tie
(HANNIBAL, Mo, Oct. 2)--The William Woods University women's soccer team tied 0-0 in double overtime at American Midwest Conference rival Hannibal-LaGrange on Saturday afternoon. The Owls are now 4-4-1 on the season and 1-2-1 in the AMC.

Sophomore Anna Hatfield (Desoto, Ill.) tallied 110 minutes in goal for the Owls in the tie. She recorded nine saves. She now has 35 saves on the season.

HL-G (2-4-3, 1-3-1) recorded 13 shots in the tie. The Trojans put nine of those shots on goal.

William Woods had six shots on the afternoon. They put five of those on goal. Junior Anne Weaver (St. Charles, Mo.) led the Owls with two shots on goal. This was the first tie for the Owls since the 2005 season.

The Owls will return to action on October 6. They host AMC rival Park University at 5 pm on Firley Field.
