(Parkville, Mo., Oct. 23)-- The William Woods University women's soccer team lost an American Midwest Conference match at Park University on Saturday afternoon. The Pirates defeated the Owls 3-0.

Park scored all three of its goals in the opening half of play. The Pirates received goals from Juneille Watkins and Ashley Maxwell (2).

Park (10-5-1, 7-2) tallied 16 shots on the afternoon. The Pirates placed 11 shots on goal.

William Woods recorded two shots against the Pirates. Junior Anne Weaver (St. Charles, Mo.) accounted for both shots. One of her shots was on goal.

Freshman Kelly Abernathy (St. Charles, Mo.) had seven saves in goal for the Owls.

WWU (6-8-2, 3-5-1) will return to action on October 26. The Owls conclude its 2010 regular season schedule at AMC rival Missouri Baptist University. Kick-off is scheduled for 7 pm in St. Louis, Mo.
