(FULTON, Mo, Oct. 6)--The William Woods University women's soccer team dropped a 2-0 decision to visiting Park University on Wednesday night on Firley Field. The Owls fall to 4-5-1 on the season and 1-3-1 in the American Midwest Conference.
The Pirates (6-5, 3-2) received first half goals from Dana Hemmingsen and Ashley Maxwell to take a 2-0 lead into halftime. Hemmingsen scored her goal in the seventh minute. Maxwell added her goal in the 42nd minute.
The Owls defense held the Pirate offense in check the second half, but could not find the back of the net. Sophomore
Anna Hatfield (Desoto, Ill.) recorded 11 saves on the evening for the Owls.
Park tallied 20 shots on the night. They put 13 shots on goal. William Woods recorded eight shots in the AMC match. The Owls put two shots on goal in the loss. Sophomore
Stephanie Kirvan (Sunrise Beach, Mo.) led William Woods with three shots. The WWU shots on goal came from junior

William Woods will return to action on October 9. The Owls host AMC rival Harris-Stowe State University at 2 pm on Firley Field.
