Women Host Spartans

The William Woods University women's soccer team will host American Midwest Conference rival Missouri Baptist University tonight.  The Owls and Spartans kick-off at 7 pm.

The Owls are coming off a 3-0 loss to AMC rival Park University on October 19.  Park scored all three of its goals in the first half.  William Woods recorded six shots on the night.  The Owls placed three shots on goal.  Stephanie Kirvan led the Owls with three shots (two on goal).  Kelly Abernathy had three saves in goal for WWU.  The Owls enters tonight's match 7-7-1 on the season and 6-3 in the AMC.
 
Missouri Baptist enters tonight's match 5-10 on the year and 4-3 in league play.  The Spartans are coming off a 3-2 double overtime loss to Hannibal-LaGrange on October 22.
 
The Owls and Spartans met on October 8 in St. Louis, Mo.  The Spartans defeated the Owls 2-1.  Missouri Baptist leads the all-time series between the two schools 16-18-2.  The teams split their two-match series last year.  MBU won 3-1 in Fulton, Mo., on September 25.  WWU won 3-0 in St. Louis, Mo., on October 26.
 
The Owls return to action October 29.  WWU will host McKendree University at 3 pm on Firley Field.  Saturday will serve as Senior Day for the men's and women's soccer programs.
