Owls Host Hannibal Tonight

The William Woods University women's soccer team will host American Midwest Conference rival Hannibal-LaGrange tonight.  The Owls and Trojans kick-off at 5 pm.

The Owls are coming off a 5-0 victory at AMC rival Benedictine University-Springfield October 1.  Kelsey Sanders scored three goals in the WWU victory.  Stephanie Kirvan and Amy Faus each added a goal for WWU.  Melissa Roewe tallied two assists in the AMC victory.  William Woods also received assists from Sanders, Faus and Brittany Graue.  WWU enters today's match 6-3-1 on the season and 5-0 in league play.
 
Sanders was named this week's AMC Offensive Player of the Week.  Kristen Pelley was named this week's AMC Defensive Player of the Week.  It's the fifth time a WWU player has earned AMC Player of the Week honors this season.
 
Hannibal enters the match 4-7 on the season and 3-2 in the AMC.  The Trojans are coming off a 4-0 victory over Harris-Stowe State University on October 1.
 
The Owls and Trojans met twice three times last season.  The Owls won 4-2 on September 11 in Fulton, Mo.  The Owls and Trojans tied 0-0 in double overtime in Hannibal, Mo., on October 2.  WWU knocked HL-G out of the AMC postseason tournament with a 2-0 win in Hannibal, Mo., on November 5.  William Woods leads the all-time series between the two schools 16-6-1.
 
The Owls return to action October 8.  WWU will travel to AMC rival Missouri Baptist University.  Kick-off is  at 2 pm in St. Louis, Mo.
