The Owls are coming off a 1-1 double overtime tie with Culver-Stockton College on September 8. Mariah Wheaton (Independence, Mo.) fired a shot off the cross bar in the 78th minute. Amy Faus (Waterloo, Ill.) took the ricochet from the wing and rifled a shot past the C-SC goalie to even the match. The Owls controlled the momentum throughout the two overtime periods but were unable to find the back of the net. WWU enters tonight's match 2-1-1 on the season.
Missouri Valley College enters tonight's match 2-1-1 on the year as well. The Vikings are coming off a 1-0 victory over Lyon College on September 7.
The Owls and Vikings met on September 16 last season. The Vikings came away with a 3-2 decision in Marshall, Mo. Faus scored for the Owls in the loss. MVC leads the all-time series between the two schools 11-6.
The Owls and Wildcats met on October 17 last season. The Wildcats came away with a 2-1 victory. CSC leads the all-time series between the two schools 4-2. The last victory for the Owls over the Vikings came on September 10, 2007. WWU defeated MVC 1-0 in Marshall, Mo.
