The William Woods University men's soccer team will host two matches on Firley Field this weekend. The Owls open American Midwest Conference play Friday at 5 pm versus Benedictine University-Springfield. WWU will host Concordia University (Neb.) at 11 am Saturday.

The Owls are coming off a 5-1 victory over Avila University Tuesday night. J.P. Parra led the Owls with a pair of goals and an assist. Marcello Carreiro and
Luca Stroeter each added a goal in the victory. Carreiro tallied an assist as well for WWU.
Benedictine University-Springfield is a new member to the American Midwest Conference. Friday is the season opener for the Bulldogs. This is the first meeting between the two schools.
The Concordia University Bulldogs come to town Saturday morning coming off a 5-0 victory over William Penn University on August 27. CU is a member of the Great Plains Athletic Conference. They finished the 2010 season 7-10-2. This will be the second meeting all-time between the Owls and Bulldogs. CU defeated the Owls 2-1 in overtime on October 17, 1998.
After back-to-back matches, the Owls will not return to the pitch until September 8. WWU will host Culver-Stockton College at 5 pm on Firley Field.
