Box Score FULTON, Mo.- The William Woods men's soccer team extended its winning streak to three games, after defeating Lindenwood University-Belleville 4-0 in a very intense game.
This was a physical game all 90:00 minutes, as there were 31 fouls and five yellow cards handed out. It was a back and forth game throughout the first half, until junior
Sebastian Burich scored his third goal of the season inside the 18 yard box and gave the Owls a 1-0 lead at the half.
For the first time this season, the Owls were outshot in the first half, with the Lynx having an advantage of 10-4, but the team still held a one goal lead.
In the second half, the Owls picked up the pace on offense and it paid off as at the 53:08 mark,
Marcelo Carreiro extended the teams' lead to 2-0 on an assist from
Alex Severino. Just 8:00 minutes later,
Joao Paulo Parra scored off of a deflection from a Lynx defender, to make it 3-0.
The physical play continued, but the Owls kept their composure as the game went on. Then with 3:00 minutes left, Severino scored his first goal on the year, making it a final 4-0.

Nathan Mason was pleased with his teams' overall play today and this week with the Owls going 3-0 in front of the home crowd. "The second half was great for us today with Parra, Burich and Carreiro all setting the tempo this afternoon and all week, they were very top notch with their play," said Mason. "Bobby (Butvin) and the back line were fantastic as well, earning the shutout out."
The Owls outshot the Lynx 11-5 in the second half and Robert Buttvin picked up his second victory on the season making three saves.
On the week, the Owls outscored Culver-Stockton, Webster and Lindenwood-Belleville 12-2. The team had a shot advantage of 57-31 and in net both Butvin and
Evan Melone had a combined save percentage of 0.818.
The team moves to 3-2 on the year and will be back in action on the road at no. 17 Missouri Valley College on Wednesday September 18th. Kick-off is set to start at 7:00 p.m.
