Box Score MARSHALL, Mo.- The William Woods men's soccer team three game winning streak came to an end Wednesday night, as the Owls were shutout at no. 11 Missouri Valley College 4-0.
Joao Paulo Parra got inside the 18 yard box and fired a shot at Vikings goaltender Josh Wells, but he came up with a big save keeping the game tied 0-0 at the 6:15 mark. MVC got on the board at the 12:07 mark, as Tiago Ferreira scored his third goal on the season, beating Owls goalie

The Vikings added its second goal with 15:00 minutes left in the first half, as Nicholas Alexander netted his first goal on the season, giving the team some breathing room.
The Owls, however, played very well against a top 15 team in the first half, totaling 10 shots with Parra leading the way with four scoring chances. With 2:00 minutes left, however, Bruno Campos extended the lead to 3-0 for MVC.
Jacob Hawes had a couple chances for the Owls to get its first goal of the game, but one of his shots went off the crossbar and the Vikings went into halftime up three goals.
In the second half, Missouri Valley scored 9:00 minutes into the final 45:00, as Alexander scored his second of the game and the Vikings were able to hold on for the four goal win. The Owls were outshot 21-14 in the game, which is the first time this season that has happened.
Parra led the Owls with five shots on the evening, two of which landing on goal. Hawes totaled three shots and senior
Marcelo Carreiro added two.
The Owls record moves to 3-3 on the season, but will look to get back on the winning track and earn its first American Midwest Conference win on the road against newcomer Mid-Continent University on September 21
