WALNUT RIDGE, Ark. – The William Woods University women's soccer team captured its second American Midwest Conference (AMC) victory Saturday afternoon, as the team defeated Williams Baptist College 6-0.

"It was a great program win," said head coach
Randy Hall. "Williams Baptist continues to grow as a young program and offered us some great competition."

The Owls (3-4-1: 2-0-1 AMC) put on a dominating display Saturday afternoon, as they had five different players score a goal and amassed 29 shots in the match-up.

Junior,
Annie Graber, got the Owls on the board first, as she scored her first goal of the season, at the 10
th minute mark from teammate
Sarah Krispin, giving WWU a 1-0 lead.

William Woods' leading scorer,
Jordan McNamara, got into the action at the 21
st minute with her sixth goal of the season, extending the Owls lead 2-0. The Blue Springs, Missouri native, also handed out an assist, giving her three points on the day.

The Eagles would hold WWU scoreless for the rest of the first half, however, it was a rough task, as the Owls outshot WBC 11 to one, giving the Owls a 2-0 lead at the half.

William Woods offense didn't slow down in the final frame, as senior,
Amy Faus scored her first goal of the season at the 48
th mark, making the score 3-0 in the Owls favor.

Only two minutes later, freshman,
Alex Langford found the back of the net, recording her first career goal as an Owl, expanding the Owls lead 4-0.

As the second half came to an end, Faus, would poke her second goal of the day past WBC goalie in 80
th minute, making the Owls lead 5-0. Then at the 85
th minute, McNamara and
Rachel Meyer connected with teammate
Brittainy German, as the senior scored her third goal of the year, securing a 6-0 victory for the Owls.

WWU was lead by McNamara in the shot department, as she collected six shots and a goal, while Meyer added five shots and Krispin, totaled four. Faus, a Waterloo, Illinois native, recorded her first career multi-goal game, also tallying three shots.

The Owls defense was just as strong as its offense Saturday afternoon, limiting the Eagles to only one shot in the final frame and just three total shots in the match-up.

"I was very happy with our team's ability to control the ball in the second half and do a great job of spreading out in our team shape," exclaims Hall. "Our midfielders did a very nice job of working off of the ball and connecting with the two flanks."

WWU looks to grab another AMC victory as the team hosts Missouri Baptist University on September 30
th at Firley Field. Kick-off is set for 5:00 p.m.

Hall expresses, "Hopefully we can hold onto some of this positive momentum that we have created, to face the AMC frontrunners of this season."
