FULTON, Mo.—In yet another important American Midwest Conference (AMC) game, the William Woods University women's soccer team will look to win its fifth in a row, as they host Lindenwood University-Belleville on Wednesday night. Kick-off will start at 7 p.m. from Firley Field.
Currently in the AMC standings, LU-Belleville (9-5; 7-1 AMC), is in fourth place with 21 points, while WWU (7-6-2; 5-3-1 AMC), is in a tie for fifth with Missouri Baptist, with each team having 16 points.
The Owls, picked up its fourth consecutive win over Williams Baptist College in its last time out, as they defeated the Lady Eagles, 4-1. The team got two goals from
Shelby Scanlan, while
Jordan McNamara and Halle Schroder added the other goals. In net, meanwhile,
Ashley Parisi, tallied another victory to her resume, making eight saves.
During its winning streak, WWU, has outscored its opponents 11-2, while holding a shot advantage of 79-63.
Offensively, McNamara, a Blue Springs, Missouri, native, has scored four goals and added two assists, while with her two goals against WBC, Scanlan has now found the back of the net three times in the last four outings. Schroeder has added two goals, while
Jaclyn Zilch and
Shelby Wiebe have contributed one goal apiece.
In goal, Parisi, has made 25 saves, for a save percentage of .926, while her goals against average is a mere .667 in 270:00 minutes of action.
On the season, McNamara, leads the team with eight goals and four assists, while Scanlan and Schroeder are both tied with four goals. Schroeder is also tied for first in assists with McNamara and second in points (12).
Parisi, continues to have a career year, as in 945:50 minutes played, she has made 86 saves, while earning a goals against average of 1.98 in 15 games.
LU-Belleville, saw its four game winning get snapped in non-conference action this past Saturday, as the Lady Lynx fell to Ashford University, 3-0.
On the year, the Lady Lynx, have totaled 35 goals and are led by Blanca Gomez, who has scored a team-high 10 goals in 13 starts, which ranks her eighth overall in the AMC. Raven Loughridge and Jessika Stiehr, have both totaled six goals, while Casey Wood has added five goals and three assists.
In net, Raven Loughridge and Luisa Santillan have each started six games, while combining for 55 saves and 19 goals allowed.
