FULTON, Mo. – On a day, that the William Woods University men's soccer team honored its lone senior, the Owls captured a 3-1 victory over American Midwest Conference (AMC) newcomer Central Baptist College.

As the Owls (9-6-3; 5-3-3 AMC), 2015 regular season came to an end on Wednesday afternoon, the team capped it off with a key victory over the Mustangs (5-8-1; 2-6-1 AMC), to record its fifth AMC victory, while coming in at the fourth seed in the standings.

WWU came into the match-up ready to go, as the team found the back of the net with just a minute into the game.
Lendell Louis-Jacques made a move past the Mustangs defense, getting the window to cross ball, where his pass connected with
Jesse Jordan who then found a cutting
Anthony Moscatello. Moscatello, would bury his seventh goal on the season and give the Owls the early 1-0 lead.

However, CBC would make it a new game at the 17:47 mark, as the Jerel Grimes passed a ball from midfield up to teammate Cole Purtle, who then place a ball inside the box for Callum Morris to head past the Owls goalkeeper, Bridger Pretx for the equalizing goal, 1-1.

The Owls had a few opportunities later in the first half to extend its lead but just were able to convert and capitalize its finishes at the net. At the 26
th minute Louis-Jacque thought he was going to put the Owls up 2-1 as he soared a shot from 20 yards out, but his shot hit off the far right post and came out right to Jordan, who also had a goof luck at the goal but missed wide.

So the score remained the same and at the end of the first 45:00 minutes of play, the teams went into half time knotted up 1-1. Along, with the score being tied, so was the shot collection, as both teams totaled six shots in the half.

The second half started just like the first frame ended, as both teams' defense would stay strong. Then at the 71
st minute Louis-Jacques grabbed his second assist of the day, as the sophomore connected with
Brett Hodges, kicked the ball past a diving Mustangs' goalkeeper and capture the go-ahead goal for WWU (2-1).

Shortly after, the Owls would add an insurance goal and extend its advantage to 3-1, after senior,
Alex Severino found Moscatello. The junior mid-fielder, would tally his second goal of the game un reachable from Bryce Deaton and give WWU a huge momentum boost.

The Owls would hold onto its two goal lead and not let the Mustangs wiggle their way back into the game, as the team went on to secure the 3-1 win.

William Woods outshot CBC 16-12 on the day, as Moscatello led the way with two goals and three shots, while Louis-Jacques also recorded three shots on the night and handed out a team-high two assists. The team was just as impressive defensively, as it's was offensively, shutting out the Mustangs in the second half and holding them to just six shots in each frame. In net, Pretz added three more saves to his season total, and picked up his second win on the season.

With the AMC post season tournament just around the corner, the Owls, will not wait to see the outcome of the Central Baptist College and Hannibal La-Grange match-up this coming Saturday. WWU is currently in fourth seed, but will need a Trojans victory to remain in the fourth spot, to get a chance to host in the opening rounds of the tournament.
