(RV) William Woods 0 Lyon College 3
In the seven inning game one, the Owls (13-5; 2-2 AMC), couldn't get a run across, as the team was out hit by the Scots 7-5.

Lyon College was the first to score, after a Joseph Sitzman solo home run shot over the center field fence, collecting the team's first homerun on the season and giving LC an early 1-0 lead in the top of the second inning.

In the bottom of the third, the Owls would try to score the equalizing run, as Larry Price doubled to left field, while Cody Stewart and Jordan Dey would load the bases by drawing walks, however, were stranded as Nick Spagnola struck out and the Owls stranded all three runners on base.

Then in the top of the fourth inning, the Scots added two more runs on the scoreboard off of starting pitcher Adam Brush, as Colt Harmon lead off with a walk and after stealing second base, Logan Reddick reached on a walk, making him the last batter Brush faced as James Ball came in relief. Ball's second batter, Joe
Campbell would then single to shallow center, scoring Harmon and Reddick, pushing the score to 3-0.

Despite the valiant effort from the Owls, they couldn't overcome the Scots starting pitcher Griffin Glaude to get that timely hit, as the senior threw a complete game and collected the 3-0 shutout, taking game one of the double header and giving the Owls its first loss since February 14th.

The Owls were led offensively by Larry Price, as the junior went a perfect 3-for-3 from the plate, while Stephen Kohler and Cody Stewart both contributed a hit in the game. Although, WWU left nine runners on base. On the mound, Brush ended with the loss, as the starter gave up three runs on two hits, walking six batters and striking out four. Ball came in relief, as the senior allowed five hits, walked two batters and struck out five.

LC scored three runs on seven hits, while Campbell, Griffin and Stizman all collected a pair of hits, as Campbell tallied two of the three RBI's in the game. Griffin, on the hill for the Scots only gave up five hits, three walks and struck out a career-high 13 batters in seven innings of work. He came into the game leading the pitching staff with 18 strikeouts on the year.

In game two of the double header, it was Lyon College that drew first blood first again, this time in top of the first inning. The Scots led off with a Campbell single to left-center, after Kris Kohlstedt moved Campbell to second base with a sacrifice bunt, Glaude would single to right field which scored Campbell, giving LC the 1-0 lead. Then after a passed ball, Glaude advanced to second and with a deep double to center from Dylan Wooten, Glaude would cross home plate, making the score 2-0 in the Scots favor.

Then in the next inning, Colt Harmon would reach base on a William Woods error and after a sacrifice bunt and two pass balls, Harmon would score the Lyon's third run of the game on a passed ball from WWU. The Owls would get one of the runs back in the bottom of the second, as Spagnola led off with a single, followed by single from Austin Clapp to move Spagnola to third base. Javier Ledesma would then execute a perfect squeeze bunt down the first base line, scoring
Spagnola and giving the Owls its first run of the afternoon against the Scots, 3-1.

After getting within two of the Scots, the Owls couldn't overcome the Scots six runs in the fourth (one), fifth (one) and sixth (four) innings. In the four inning, Sitzman recorded his second solo home run on the day, extending Lyon College lead to 4-1. In the fifth, after a William Woods throwing error and a Glaude's single the Scots would put another run on the board, making the score 5-1. Then it was the all Lyon College offense in the top of the sixth inning, as they scored four runs off of three hits, extending their advantage over the Owls 9-1.

WWU, however, would get their bats going in the bottom of the seventh and put together a four run inning rally off of five hits. The Owls strung together four consecutive singles to get the inning going and pushing its second  and third run across the plate, forcing the Scots to make a pitching change. With bases loaded, and no one out, Javier Ledesma was hit by a pitch, to add another run and then Kemper collected two RBI's with a single to left, cutting the lead to 9-5 still in the Scots favor.

Lyon College defense wouldn't let the Owls score another run, working a scoreless eighth and ninth innings, to go on to secure the 9-5 victory in the nine inning match-up and the double header sweep over the Owls.

Offensively, the Owls out hit the Scots 12-9, as Spagnola paced the way going 3-for-4 from the plate and scoring two runs. Dey and Clapp each went 2-for-4 and scored one run, while Kohler, Price, Kremer, Kemper and Grant all added a hit. On the mound, Ryan Schmidt took the loss in game two, as he gave up four hits and four runs, while striking out one batter.

With the two losses this afternoon, it ended the team's season-high nine game winning streak and put them at .500 in AMC play.
