Story written by Sports Information Intern Scott BarkerFULTON, Mo.—The No. 19-ranked William Woods University softball team earned its first two American Midwest Conference (AMC) wins on the year over the Benedictine University at Springfield Bulldogs on Monday afternoon, as the Owls won both games by the score of 8-0 (5 innings). With her victory over the Bulldogs in game one, head coach
Tracy Gastineau totaled her 600
th career victory.
Â
"Both of our freshman pitchers did a great job on the mound today," said Gastineau. "The biggest difference being we only gave up one walk on the day. That's been a struggle of ours and both were sharp today. Obviously,
Bre Logan's perfect game is a great achievement for her and for our team, so I'm very pleased with their demeanor and presence on the mound."
Â
She added, "Offensively, we had some big innings and had a lot of hard hit balls. When you put up crooked numbers in an inning, it allows your defense to settle in and also gives your offense an opportunity to relax and have quality at-bats."
