Owls Continue Its Road Trip Against Southwestern Christian

McNamara looks to get back to her scoring ways against the Lady Eagles.
BETHANY, Okla.—The William Woods University women's soccer team will look to snap its two-game skid on Saturday afternoon, as the Owls take on Southwestern Christian University. Kick-off will start at 2 p.m.

The Owls (1-4-1; 0-2 AMC), are coming off a tough 5-0 loss against Columbia College on Thursday night. WWU's best scoring chance came in the fifth minute, as Jordan McNamara had a chance to give them a 1-0 lead, but her shot attempt went off the post.

Columbia went on to score one goal in the first 45:00 minutes of play, while adding four more in the second half, to go on for the win.

On the season, WWU has scored two goals and totaled 38 shots, while being led by the duo of McNamara and Shelby Scanlan, who have combined for two goals and 18 shots.

In goal, two-time American Midwest Conference (AMC) Defensive Player of the Week, Ashley Parisi, has played in 414:50 minutes, allowing 13 goals and making 46 saves, for a save percentage of .780. Her 46 saves rank her 17th in the NAIA, while her 7.67 saves per game, is 25th best.

SCU (4-1), meanwhile, is riding a four-game winning streak, as they have outscored its opponents 11-5 during that stretch.

The Lady Eagles are coming off a 3-2 win over Southwestern (Kan.), on Tuesday night, as they were led by Steva Fridley scoring twice in the 75th and 78th minutes, to lift them over Southwestern.

On the year, the Lady Eagles, are led by Emma Keyes, totaling a team-high four goals and 15 shots. Amber Markham, Jill Owens and Fridley have also found the back of the net twice.

In net, Kaylie Naumann, has started four games, making 12 saves and has allowed seven goals, for a goals against average of 1.92 in 328:54 minutes played.
