ST. LOUIS, Mo.—The William Woods University women's soccer team will look to capture its first American Midwest Conference (AMC) victory on Tuesday night, as the Owls travel to St. Louis College of Pharmacy. Kick-off will start at 7 p.m.
The Owls (2-4-1; 0-2 AMC), are coming off an impressive 3-1 victory over Southwestern Christian University in its last time out. The team outshot the Lady Eagles 16-8, while finding the back of the net for WWU, included,
Jaclyn Zilch,
Jordan McNamara and
Renee Meyer.
The three goals surpassed the teams' total mark it had all season, while its 16 shots, were one off its season-high against Avila University back on September 3
rd.
On the season, WWU has scored five goals and are led by McNamara, as the Blue Springs, Missouri, native, has scored a team-high two goals, while adding two assists and 17 shots.
Shelby Scanlan is also off to a strong start, having one goal and two assists, while Meyer's and Zilch's goals against the Lady Eagles were its first on the season.
In goal,
Ashley Parisi has started all seven games, playing 459:50 minutes and has made 47 saves for a save percentage of .770. Freshman
Rebecca Sturgess has appeared in three games and accounted for three saves in 100:10 minutes of action.
This will be the first ever meeting between the Owls and Eutectics (1-6; 0-4 AMC), as they are looking to snap its five game skid and rebound off a 12-0 loss against Columbia College back on September 19
th.
On the year, STLCOP, has scored eight goals on the year and are led by Christina Arackal, who has totaled a team-high four goals on 22 shots. Rachel Haug has added two goals, while Jordyn Norde has contributed one.
In goal, Melissa Mixner has started in five games and has made 33 saves in 450:00 minutes of play. Katie Helm, meanwhile, has started in two games, totaling 135:00 minutes and has added seven saves.
