Game Flow
In set one, the Spartans scored the first six of seven points on a service run by Marion Courad which included two aces and three kills by Mallory Dillon. The Owls fought back and forth with the Spartans, but it was not until a service run by Victoria Day and a kill by Tory Wiley tied up the set, 11-11. The set then went point for point until MBU ran away with the lead by five points, 19-14, after a service run by Kamden Maas. The Owls would fight for two more points with kills, both by Abby Ferguson before ultimately falling in the first set, 25-16.

The second set would be controlled by the Owls as they scored six of the first ten points of the set, 6-4. The Owls used a service run by Melanie Kala and a kill by Day to take the lead. With the Owls ahead, 7-5, the match went point for point with kills by Stephanie Davis, Day, and Wiley before the set would be tied, 14-14. After a few volleys and the score bouncing back and forth, MBU would take a two-point lead until a kill by Davis would cut the lead to one, 20-19. After another kill by Davis, the Owls would tie and then take the lead, 24-23 after a Spartan mistake. The Owls would take set two after a kill by Wiley, 25-23

MBU would come out strong in the third set with another service run by Maas putting the Spartans up 6-3. The Owls would fight back, going kill for kill with the Spartans keeping the set close as the Owls trailed by two, 10-8. It was not until a service run by Brittney Engelbrecht that would cut the lead down to three, 15-12, for the Owls. The Spartans would then add to their lead, eventually gaining a six-point lead after a kill by Courad, 22-16. Back-to-back kills by Davis and Engelbrecht would add two, but that would be the end of the Owls point gain as they would drop the set, 25-18.

The fourth set would give hope to the Owls as they would take control of set four with a two-point lead, 7-5, early in the set. The Owls would then capitalize on Spartan mistakes, and run away with a lead of seven, 14-7. A kill by Kristina Medanovic would end the Spartan kill drought, and a service run by Marion Courad would cut the Owls lead down to five, 17-12. The Spartans would chip away at the Owls lead and after Kayton Coffee added an ace, the set score would be 21-14, in favor of the Owls. It was not until a kill by Caterina Cigarini and a successful service run that started the Spartan fire again. After a collection of Spartan kills, MBU closed the gap to 23-20. A Spartan mistake would give the Owls a chance to finish the set, but after a kill by Courad, the Owls would not be able to land a kill, and the Spartans would take a heartbreaking set four, 26-24.
