Volleyball Heads to Lindenwood-Belleville for AMC Quarterfinals

FULTON, Mo. – The William Woods University Volleyball team heads to Belleville, Illinois to face Lindenwood University-Belleville in American Midwest Conference Quarterfinals action on Tuesday, November 8th. The Owls and Lynx will square off at 7 p.m.
 
The winner of the Quarterfinals will advance to the AMC Semifinals. Both the semifinals and the AMC Championship will be held at the Car and Deloris Petty Sports and Recreation Center on the campus of Missouri Baptist University. The semifinals and championships are set for November 11 and 12.
 
The Last Meeting
- The Owls and Lynx matched up against each other on October 4th at Anderson Arena. The Lynx defeated the Owls, 3-1 (25-20, 21-25, 16-25, 24-26).
- The Lynx collected 56 kills on the match compared to the Owls 54
- William Woods had 74 digs in the match compared to the 72 by Lindenwood-Belleville
- There were 18 blocks combined in the contest, 11 by Lindenwood-Belleville and seven by WWU
- Victoria Day led the Owls with 17 kills in the match and Brittney Engelbrecht dished out 43 assists in the match
 
About the Owls
- The Owls enter the AMC Tournament with a 20-13 record and are the fifth seed as they went 8-4 in American Midwest Conference action this season. The Owls finished a game behind Lindenwood-Belleville for the fourth seed
- WWU enters the AMC Tournament after falling to Park 3-0 (19-25, 12-25, 19-25)
- Victoria Day led the Owls with 360 kills on the season. She helped lead the Owls to 1531 kills on the season, the 38th most in the NAIA
- Brittney Engelbrecht led the Owls with 1182 assists on the year, the 16th best in the NAIA during the 2016 season. As a team the Owls collected 1396 assists the 39th beset in the NAIA
- Engelbrecht also averaged 9.61 assists per set this season, for the 38th best mark in the nation
- Stephanie Davis enters the AMC Quarterfinals with 298 block assists over her four-year career. She is two blocks away from tying the career block assists away. Emily Becker holds the school record at 300. Davis is also 25 kills away from 1,000 career kills in her match.
 
About the Lynx
- The Lynx enter the contest with a 18-11 overall record and an 9-3 record in the AMC conference. Lindenwood-Belleville enters the contest by winning its last five contests
- Lindenwood-Belleville came away with a weekend sweep of Williams Baptist and Lyon this past weekend to lock up the fourth seed. The Lynx won by games 3-0.
- Stephanie Cathcart leads the Lynx in kills on the season as she has recorded 381. She had a season-high 27 kills in a five-set match against Bemidji State on September 3
- Emily Schaller recorded 367 digs on the season. She is averaging 3.95 digs per set. She had a season high 30 digs on October 22nd against Avila
- The Lynx have two setters over 400 assists on the season. Leading the way is Allie Holmes who has 484, while Kourtney Knox follows with 434 assists on the season
