FULTON, Mo. – The William Woods Men's Basketball team won its sixth straight contest as they defeated St. Louis College of Pharmacy, 94-45, on Thursday afternoon at Anderson Arena. With the win, the Owls improve to 10-3 on the season.
Six Owls scored in double-figures in the contest, led by
Trey Mitchell, who had 16 points.
Deon Pettigrew followed with 12,
Torin Washington scored 11 and
Jonny Woolf,
DaShaun Stark and
Shannon James added ten points apiece. Washington led the Owls with nine rebounds.
William Woods returns to action on Saturday, December 31st when they host Park University at 3 p.m. The Owls and Pirates is the American Midwest Conference Game of the Week.

William Woods came out as they scored the first nine points of the contest. During this stretch
Trey Mitchell scored the first seven points of the contest. WWU continued to hold onto its lead as
Deon Pettigrew and
Torin Washington hit back to back jumpers put the Owls ahead, 17-5.
The lead grew to 13 points, 25-12, with 10:50 to go in the first half after a jumper by
Brandon Vice. However, the Eutectics started making a comeback and went on a 10-2 run over the Owls, trimming the Owls lead down to five points, 27-22, with 7:41 left before halftime.
WWU slowly grew its lead back to double figures as they went on a 13-2 run of its own growing the lead to 16 points, 40-24, after a
DaShaun Stark jumper. The lead grew to 19, 45-26, to go into halftime as
Jonny Woolf ended the scoring for the Owls in the first half with a three pointer.
After the first five minutes of the second half, the Owls stepped up the defense as they held the Eutectics to one point, as WWU scored 16 points growing the lead to 34 points, 61-27, after a Washington jumper in the paint. The Owls continued to lead and with 11:23 left in the contest, WWU led by 35 points, 67-32.
The Owls continued to extend its lead to 40 points, after a breakaway dunk by
Jerel Wilhite. William Woods grew the lead to as 49 points as a jumper by Washington put the Owls ahead by 49 and the Owls defeated the Pharmacy, 94-45.
