FULTON, Mo. -Â The William Woods University Softball team hammered Harris-Stowe State University as the Owls swept the Hornets in American Midwest Conference action. The Owls scored 21 runs and collected 16 hits in the sweep. The Owls won game one, 8-0, 5 innings and won game two, 13-0, in five innings of game two.

The Owls return to action on Saturday, April 16th when they host Missouri Baptist University for an American Midwest Conference doubleheader. William Woods will honor its seniors in between games.

William Woods offense came to life in the first inning as they took advantage of walks issued by the Hornets. With two on,
Brailee Schulte tripled down the right field line. After a walk to Beth Begemenn put two runners on base. Schulte came in to score on a wild pitch putting the Owls ahead, 3-0.

Harris-Stowe collected its lone hit in the second inning as Cassidy Williams singled to left field. After the hit, the Owls Pitcher
Sierra Jacques settled down and did not allow another hit.

The Owls slowly continued to extend its lead as they scored one run in the second and third inning of action. In the second inning,
Shelby LeCuru scored on a Schulte fielder's choice. In the third inning, William Woods Hentges scored on an
Alexi Cavins single to right. After three innings of play, the Owls lead 5-0.

William Woods set Harris-Stowe down in order, the Owls bats came to life again as they scored three runs on two hits and took advantage of one HSSU error. Hentges collected a two run double in the inning putting the Owls ahead 7-0. Hentges came into score on an error by Harris-Stowe for the eighth run of the game for the Owls.

WWU shut down the Eagles in order in the fifth inning and the Owls came away with a 8-0 victory.

The Owls bats came out swinging in the first inning. After an out,
Olivia Imhoff and
Brailee Schulte collected back to back hits.
Beth Begemann doubled to right center scoring one and leaving two on base.
Emily Murphy followed with a three run inside the park home run down the right field line.

After taking a 4-0 lead the Owls continued to add to its lead in the first.
Amanda Bouchey was hit by a pitch,
Alli Massey followed with a walk and
Emily Robinett drew a walk to load the bases After the second out of the inning,
Hannah Campbell reached on a fielder error, which scored one. Imhoff followed with a single scoring another run for the Owls. Schulte followed with a bases loaded walk scoring another. Begemann added two more to the plate as she hit her second double of the inning scoring two more. After the first inning the Owls lead 9-0.

Bre Logan continued to keep Harris-Stowe off balance as she struck out the first hitter of the inning. She got Mackenzie Shelton to ground out to shortstop and struck out Leah Hamilton ending the inning.

The Owls bats continued to stay out in the second inning,
Amanda Bouchey walked and Massey followed with a double. Robinett drew a walk to loading the bases.
Dacrie Depping drew a bases load scoring one run.

Hannah Campbell singled to right field, scoring another run. The Owls third run of the inning came when Imoff reached by being hit by a pitch. The Owls added one more when
Ari Arnold reached on a fielder's choice and after two innings, the Owls led 13-0.

The Owls Logan continued to dominate the Hornets as she retired them in order in the third. Logan came out in the fourth inning and retired the first batter of the inning. After a hit, Logan got Cassidy Williams to fly out and struck out Jenna Vitale to strike out.

Logan continued to pitch well as she got Mackenzie Shelton to fly out in foul territory. She then struck out Leah Hamilton. Jalessa ginger singled to right center putting one on however, she was left on first base as Shelbie Dewitt struck out swinging and the Owls won game two, 13-0.
